Which cookies and similar technologies HerbaOnline UK uses, and how you can control them.

What cookies are

Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. Browser storage (local and session storage) works in a similar way. We use them only as described below. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use third-party analytics such as Google Analytics.

Strictly necessary

These are needed for the shop to work, or for something you asked for. They cannot be switched off in the shop.

HERBAONLINE_V2_SESSION · This shop (first party)

  • Purpose: Keeps you signed in and keeps your cart and checkout secure.
  • How long: Up to 30 days, renewed while you use the shop; removed when you sign out.

v2_catalog_density · This shop (first party)

  • Purpose: Remembers the product layout you chose. Only set when you choose one.
  • How long: 1 year

herba.minicart.recent.v1 (browser session storage) · This shop (first party)

  • Purpose: Shows the items you just added at the top of the mini cart.
  • How long: Until you close the browser tab

herba_v2_auth_email (browser session storage) · This shop (first party)

  • Purpose: Only after you ask to sign in, get a sign-in link or reset your password: keeps the email address you typed so the next step can use it.
  • How long: 15 minutes at most; removed when you finish, cancel or close the tab

Stripe and PayPal cookies · Stripe, PayPal (third party)

  • Purpose: Set only on the payment page, to take your payment securely and prevent fraud.
  • How long: Set by the provider; see their cookie information

Not strictly necessary

We do not store anything in your browser that is not strictly necessary. Earlier versions of the shop set a cookie called HO_V2_OA for signed-in customers; we no longer set it, and we remove it the next time you visit while signed in.

How to control cookies

  • This shop has no cookie settings panel, because it only uses the strictly necessary items above.
  • You can block or delete cookies and site data at any time in your browser settings.
  • If you block the strictly necessary cookies, sign-in, the cart and checkout will not work.

Other technologies

Pages load the shop’s fonts from Google Fonts. This sets no cookie, but your browser sends your IP address to Google to fetch the fonts. Links in our emails can carry a reference so that we know which email brought you to the shop. When you are signed in, we note on our own server which pages and checkout steps you use during that visit, linked to your sign-in session; this sets no extra cookie.
